Repertorio Español, the United States’ pre-eminent Spanish-language theater Company will receive a star in Union City, New Jersey’s “Walk of Fame” tomorrow Thursday, June 3, 2010 to coincide with the premiere of its new play titled “The Preposterous Case of Miss Piña Colada” on June 4th.
The ceremony will take place at 5pm at the Celia Cruz Plaza located at Bergenline Avenue and 31st Street in Union City, New Jersey.
Mayor & State Senator Brian P. Stack & the Union City Board of Comissioners will be present as well as other dignataries.

(Union City, NJ) Mayor Brian P. Stack and the Board of Commissioners announce that the City of Union City will hold a “Star Dedication Ceremony” honoring renown members of the entertainment community in what has become the “Union City Walk of Fame” tomorrow, Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 5:00 PM at Celia Cruz Plaza, Bergenline Avenue & 31st Street, Union City, New Jersey. Mayor & State Senator Brian P. Stack & the Union City Board of Commissioners will be present, as well as other dignitaries.
Being honored this year with their individual star are: renown Cuban composer, the late Osvaldo Farres, accepted by his wife Finita Farres; legendary Cuban vocalist Olga Guillot; renown band leader, the late Jose Fajardo, accepted by his son Fajardo Jr.; vocalist Osvaldo Gomez “El Indio Araucano”; and the leading Spanish language theatre company in the United States, El Repertorio Español, accepted by René Buch and Robert Weber Federico and in memoriam of Repertorio Español’s Founding President & Producer, Gilberto Zaldivar.
The event will feature a special performance by television personality Eduardo Antonio in honor of Celia Cruz. Everyone in the community is invited to attend the ceremony.

Repertorio Español, now on its 42nd season, was founded in 1968 by Gilberto Zaldívar and René Buch to present the best of Latin American, Spanish and Hispanic-American theatre in distinctive, quality productions, and to bring theatre to a broad audience in New York City and across the country, including seniors, students and Hispanics of all national backgrounds. The organization has been awarded Drama Desk, OBIE and New York State Governor's Awards.
